Every luxury watch has
a fingerprint.
We read it.

Realwatch authenticates luxury timepieces using two independent scientific primitives: the microscopic texture of the dial confirms which watch, and the timing signature of the movement confirms it's genuine. Together, they produce a tamper-evident provenance record that insurers, dealers, and law enforcement can verify independently.

The problem

A $30 billion secondary market
with no way to prove what's real.

The global luxury watch resale market exceeds $30 billion annually. Counterfeits are increasingly sophisticated. Serial numbers can be swapped. Papers can be forged. Even trained experts disagree. The industry needs an objective, scientific standard for watch authentication — one that produces verifiable evidence, not just an opinion.

How it works

Two independent proofs.
One unbreakable verdict.

Realwatch reads two independent signals from every watch. The first identifies the specific physical unit — like a biometric fingerprint. The second confirms the movement inside is genuine. Neither can be forged independently, and together they form a provenance record that stands up to scrutiny.

Primitive 01 · Identity

Dial fingerprinting

Every watch dial has a unique microscopic landscape — invisible to the naked eye but as distinctive as a human fingerprint. Realwatch captures this micro-texture and creates a permanent digital identity for each specific watch. No two are alike, even from the same production run.

Primitive 02 · Authenticity

Movement signature

Every caliber family — Rolex, Omega, Patek Philippe — has a characteristic timing signature: the precise rhythm of the escapement, the amplitude of the balance wheel, the subtle harmonics of the hairspring. Realwatch reads this signature from a brief video and confirms the movement is genuine.

The joint verdict

Neither primitive alone tells the full story. A stolen dial with a swapped movement passes the identity check but fails movement authentication. A counterfeit case with a genuine movement passes the movement check but fails dial identity. Realwatch requires both to pass — producing a verdict that's scientifically rigorous and legally defensible.

Smartphone scanning a luxury watch
Phone-first

Your phone is the
authentication lab.

Realwatch works on the phone you already carry. A quick scan captures the dial's micro-texture and the movement's timing signature in under 60 seconds. For higher-assurance use cases, an affordable clip-on optic brings microscope-grade resolution to any modern smartphone.

Results are available instantly — on-device analysis provides a preliminary verdict in seconds, while cloud verification delivers a full, signed authentication report.

From a free consumer spot-check to a kiosk-grade enrollment station, the same platform scales across every use case.

Trust infrastructure

Every authentication is
permanently recorded.

Realwatch writes every enrollment and verification into a tamper-evident ledger. Each entry is cryptographically linked to the one before it — making it impossible to alter, delete, or fabricate records after the fact. Insurers, law enforcement, and marketplaces can independently verify any record without trusting us.

The watch industry doesn't have a technology problem. It has a trust problem. Realwatch turns physical authentication into verifiable, permanent, scientific proof — evidence that stands up in an insurance claim, a courtroom, or a marketplace listing.
